Q&A/ an interview with me - week 2

Q&A/ an interview with me

This weeks theme for the #BritishBloggerSelection is Q&A's so without further ado here's my post!

Question One: Why do you like blogging?
I enjoy writing and sharing things in posts with anyone who wants to read my blog!
Question Two: How did you come up with your blog name?
This for me was the hardest part of starting my blog! I wanted a blog where I shared real life experiences and shared things that I could talk about so I thought about what could show that, so I finally came up with Being Heather.
Question Three: Where from the UK do you come from?
I come from a little village in the south of Wales.
Question Four: Favourite colour?
It varies but most of the time it's either a teal colour or a burgundy red.
Question Five: Do you like Lana Del Ray?
Yes I do, she isn't my favourite singer or band but I really enjoy listening to her music.
Question Six: Hidden Talents That You Have?
I'm trained as a classical singer so I can sing but it's not really hidden but apart from that the only thing cool I can do is the splits!
Question Seven: Celebrity Crush?
Liam Hemsworth.. mmmm                              ------------->
Question Eight: Favourite Blog Of All Time?
Zoella, I think her posts are so lovely and anyone can relate to them so I really enjoy reading her blog.
Question Nine: What made you want to join #BritishBloggerSelection?
As I'm new to blogging, I wanted to join a community where I could get to know new people and enjoy doing what I love to do! So far I'm loving it and can't wait to continue with it!

I hope you've enjoyed this weeks post and if you did make sure to leave a comment saying so! Make sure to follow for more posts soon!

Fall fashion 2013

Fall Fashion 2013

Fall is my favourite time of year, all the pretty colours of the leaves, Halloween and then of course Christmas. One of the things I love most is fall fashion and so I thought there would be nothing better to do than show you some of my fashion staples for this year. Enjoy!

1. Tartan- I love tartan, I think it's an easy way to add a little something to an outfit. You don't have to go quite as full out as the picture above but adding a scarf or a jacket can make a great outfit even better!

2. Leather- I love leather at the moment, whether it be a jacket, a leather-look skirt or top, I think it just makes an outfit look sophisticated and is the perfect way to dress up a casual outfit for the evening or even work.

3. Maroon and berry shades- I think these are perfect colours for autumn winter/ fall. Dresses, skirts, tops, jumpers, anything in this colour is so cute and perfect for this time of the year. You don't have to have clothes these shades, nail polishes are gorgeous and finish an outfit perfectly and also adding these warm autumnal shades to your make-up bag can make you look flawless in the winter months.

4. Layering- I love jumpers and warm cosy cardigans because I can't stand being cold. This is why layering is the best in the winter months, it's fashionable and still cosy at the the same time. I like layering dresses, tights, socks, boots and jumpers or cosy cardigans. I think these kind of outfits look so cute and girly, add a jacket and a snood and you're ready to go!

5. Ankle boots- I love boots, I think they're so comfortable but also warm and fashionable too. I think paired with some frilly socks and a dress or skirt they can make an outfit look super feminine and they're practical when it starts to snow and rain so your feet don't get cold and wet!

So these are my autumn winter/ fall staples. I hope these have given you some inspirations for some cute outfits this fall! Be sure to send me any pictures or comment your favourite bits from this post. Make sure you follow for more posts!
Love you all

A quick catch up, Britain's got talent & Some advice

A quick catch up, Britain's got talent & Some advice

Hi guys, I know it's been forever since Iv'e written a new blog post but I've been so busy lately, so I thought i'd have a little catch up with you guys and try and give some advice. Since I last wrote a blog post, loads of different things have happened.

First, I got given a lead role in my school production of 'We will rock you' which is super exiting. Last year we did 'Hairspray' and I was lucky enough to get the lead role of Tracy so this year I wasn't expecting anything brilliant this year, but I managed to get the role of Killer Queen. She's the really cool, evil character so i'm really exited to start rehearsing! Some advice I would give to anyone auditioning is;

1. Have fun and don't panic. If you don't get a part it doesn't matter, there's always next year, just enjoy yourself!

2. Act confident. Even if you don't feel it, act it! You seem more appealing to the judges if you seem like the audition doesn't faze you so act act act!

Secondly, me and my singing group, 'Dolce' (That's us in the picture!) auditioned for Britain's got talent and got through the first round! We haven't been told yet if we're going through to the televised audition, we should be told around February time so fingers crossed!

Lastly, I've had loads of exams and revision because it's my last year of GCSE's which really hasn't been fun but is really important. If I could give anybody one piece of advice while doing their exams it would be not to leave anything until the last minute because then you panic and freak out (I've learnt from experience guys!). Just make sure you stay focused and keep on top of everything, that doesn't mean you can't have a social life, it just means plan when you will do homework or revision and when you will go out. I promise, this really will help, honest.

Anyway, that's all for this blog post, be sure to follow and comment. Any ideas are welcome and I promise i'll be back to making beauty posts soon, I just thought a good catch up was needed.

Make sure to follow me on instagram, twitter, and tumblr, my links are on my contact me page!
Love you guys

Skincare Musts

My skincare essentials.

Now, my skin has it's good and bad days but over all it's not too bad, so I thought today I would write a post on my favourite skincare products at the moment that really work for my skin and hopefully for yours too. I don't use any high-end products on a day to day basis, only if i'm having a really bad couple of days, so everything here is very much affordable for everyone but still works really, really well!

1. The first thing is a little bit boring but I really love them, Cotton wool pads. You're probably all thinking, there's nothing special about cotton wool pads but these are amazing. They're cheap from asda or wall-mart as Americans know it and they're about twice the size of normal cotton wool pads which means you only go through half as many which is always good!

2. The second thing is Clean & Clear deep action cream wash. I LIVE by this cream, it is sooooo good for anyone who suffers with really bad blemishes or blackheads or even anyone who just want to keep them away. My skin used to be really bad so I started using this and I instantly saw a difference. I'll do a full review of this another time or i'll end up just rambling on and on, haha! I apply this with the cotton wool pads.

3. The next thing is moisturiser. You can use any moisturiser that works for you, at the moment i'm using the Nivea Q10 plus day cream. I find that this makes my skin feel lovely and smooth so I've really been loving it. Another moisturiser I would recommend is the L'Oreal Revitalift which works just as well.

4. The last thing I don't do everyday but I try to do about 2 to 3 times a week to make sure my skin stays nice and smooth, face masks. My favourite face masks are the Montagne Jeunesse ones specifically the chocolate masque. It's so nice and refreshing and you can tell it's doing your skin the world of good.

So those are my all-time favourite skincare products. I hope this has helped some of you pick out some good products and thank you for reading! Make sure you follow for more posts on beauty fashion and lifestyle.
Love you all

Today's new buys

Today's new buys

Today I decided to pop into town and obviously I found some things I just couldn't leave behind. Most of these things have had very good reviews and so I decided to try them out for myself. So without further ado, here are today's new buys!

The first thing I did was go into House of Fraser. If you don't know what that is it's basically just a big store where they sell all different brands of make-up, clothing and home ware and it's so lovely in there. Everyone is so helpful and so friendly to talk to. While I was in there I took a look at the Clinique stand and saw their anti-blemish liquid foundation. Now, at the moment my skin isn't too good but I don't feel confident enough to not wear any make-up so when I saw this I thought I NEED TO HAVE IT haha! It was £24 which is quite expensive for a foundation but it's supposed to clear and prevent blemishes so I thought I would give it a try and tell you guys what I thought about it!

Then I went into superdrug which is just your average drug store. In there I saw that Revlon were having a 2 for £10 offer an all lip, nail and mascara products and so I picked up 2 of the Revlon lip butters (which I've been hearing such great things about) in the 2 most popular colours 015- tutti frutti and 053- sorbet. So far I've only tried tutti frutti but I already love it! It's so moisturising and such a lovely colour! I'll write another blog post on what I think if it in the long term soon. Whilst I was in there, I also saw that BarryM were having a 2 for £6 on their nail polishes I decided to buy 2 more of their Gelly Hi-shine nail paints in the colours blueberry and papaya. I then went over to the sleek stand and bought a new blush because mine had run out. I picked one up in the colour pomegranate because I hadn't tried that one before and was feeling rather adventurous! Then, I picked up my favourite bronzer, Bourjois chocolate bronzer and left deciding that I had probably bought more than I needed!

I'll write more blog posts reviewing these products for you and If you'd like to know how I get on with them be sure to follow me on here and also my instagram and twitter (my links are on the page 'come say hi'). Thank you for reading and if there are any posts you would like me do make sure to comment them blow!

My everyday make-up look

My Everyday make-up look.

This is my everyday make-up look which I do for school and on days when I don't really need a lot of make-up. In this blog post i'll take you through all the products I use, how much they are and review them for you. So let's go!

1. Moisturizer- £11.99 L'Oreal Revitalift- obviously I know I don't need an anti-wrinkle cream just yet, as i'm only 15, but it's a really good moisturizer, sinks in almost instantly and makes your skin so smooth. For it's price I think it's really good and would definitely recommend it.

2. Foundation- £6.99 Rimmel Lasting finish 25 hour- This is perfect for summer as it gives a good coverage but not a really heavy one. It also does what it says, stays on for 25 hours (maybe not that long, but it definitely stays put all day!). It's definitely a bargain as well, for only £7 it's really good and would again highly recommend this!

3. Bronzer- £6.99 Bourjois chocolate bronzer- I love this bronzer and have been buying it for so long now. I can't find a bronzer I like better than this (if you know of one make sure to comment bellow telling me!) and for it's price I don't think I will. It stays on so well and you don't need a large amount for it to show. Definitely another product I would recommend.

4. Eyebrows- £2.99 Rimmel eyebrow pencil- On a day were i'm rushing to get out of the door or just a normal school day, I really can't be bothered to fill in my eyebrows properly with an eye shadow and brush so I just use this pencil to quickly draw them on. It's not brilliant but for the price it's alright. I'm not going to recommend this because when i'm actually doing my make-up I will fill them in properly.

5. Mascara- £6.99 Rimmel scandaleyes lycra flex (I've just noticed I use a lot of rimmel products haha!)- I really, really like this. I think it gives your eyelashes really good length and volume which is what I want in a mascara. If you put on 2 coats then you get a lot of volume which is perfect for a night out look. I would suggest this to anyone who is either looking for an everyday mascara or a mascara that gives you a bit more volume.

So that is every product I use on a day to day basis! I hope this helped you pick some good products for a basic everyday make-up look. If you have any suggestion for products that you think are just as good or even better you'd like me to try out for you be sure to comment! Also, make sure to follow for more beauty and other kinds of posts! If you would like a tutorial of this look on youtube also, be sure to comment down bellow.
Thank you for reading, love you lots
